Officials confirmed 71 new deaths in the province. 3,718 people have died due to COVID-19 since the emergency began.
578 new COVID-19 cases are confirmed since yesterday. Currently there are 44,775 cases in Quebec.
Quebec Deputy Premier Genevieve Guilbault made the following announcements.
Small gatherings
Small gatherings will be allowed starting this Friday (May 22) everywhere in the province. A maximum of 10 people can gather outside. People can gather from a maximum of three different households.
Guests cannot come indoors for dinners or parties. People should keep a two meter distance from people they don’t live with.
Health care services
Private health care services will re-open June 1 across Quebec. Health care services include dentists and physiotherapy.
Beauty care
Beauty care services, such as groomers and hair salons, will re-open June 1, outside of Greater Montreal and Joliette.
The date to re-open beauty care services inside Greater Montreal has not yet been announced.
