The Access to Information Commission of Quebec is investigating Tim Horton’s mobile app. The review comes after many media outlets reported the app could collect and use clients’ personal information.

In particular, the commission will look at how the app can track where users are physically located.

Quebec’s Access to Information Commission ensures that practices of private businesses protect users’ personal information.

The commission will work jointly with the federal Office of Privacy. Additionally, two provincial commissions will participate — the offices for Information and Privacy for Alberta and for British Columbia.
