Borough opens public water parks as temperatures rise

The borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension is opening water parks in response to hot weather expected this week. Public health officials have allowed the opening of parks.

Weather forecast indicate high temperatures this week. Temperatures will rise to 30 to 33 degrees Celsuis. With humidity, the weather will feel closer to 35 to 38 degrees.

The borough is opening the following parks, starting today:

  1. Park De L’estre
    Address: Avenues Ball and De L’Épée
  2. Howard Park
    Address: de Liège Street West and Querbes Avenue
  3. Champdoré Park
    Address: D’Iberville street and de Louvain
  4. Ovila-Légaré Park
    Address: Boulevard Pie-IX and 47th street

Parks are open to the public between 9 am and 11 pm, everyday.

Borough councillor Mary Deros welcomes the reopening of water parks.

“They will offer a cool oasis during the heat wave for children and families,” Deros said.
