Tourisme Montréal grants financial assistance for the affixing of the BONJOUR on taxis

Convinced of the strength of the BONJOUR brand image, Tourisme Montréal recently confirmed the granting of a global envelope of $24,000 to subsidize the of the BONJOUR brand image on taxis helping an industry which is so important to the population of Park-Extension .
Committed to encouraging the development of sustainable, accessible and eco-responsible mobility, this financial assistance is also part of Tourisme Montréal’s desire to contribute to accelerating the electrification of taxi vehicles. In fact, the organization has established that the percentage of eligible costs for the subsidy would be distributed according to the type of vehicle, including an additional percentage for green vehicles. In other words, an applicant will be reimbursed for his expenses as follows:
50% of the cost of dressing (before taxes) for electric vehicles;
30% of trim costs (before taxes) for plug-in hybrids, hybrids, or vehicles accessible to people with reduced mobility;
20% of trim costs, before taxes, for other combustion vehicles.
Get reimbursed for 70% to 100% of dressing costs
It is possible to submit an application for both the subsidy from Tourisme Montréal and the one offered under the modernization program of the Ministère des Transports du Québec and to combine the amounts.
This is great news that people in the industry have been waiting for. Indeed, covering BONJOUR taxi dressing costs at 100% for electric vehicles was one of the recommendations made by the guests present at the collaborative workshop: Accelerate the electrification of remunerated passenger transport by automobile !
In May 2022, Tourisme Montréal was proud to officially present its Harmonious destination strategy in order to encourage, by 2030, the development of Montréal as an exemplary tourist destination with a positive impact on the local community and the environment. The Harmonious Destination aims to create intelligent, diversified, regenerative and financially prosperous tourism with a view to sustainable development. For Tourisme Montréal, this is a major and ambitious paradigm shift. The fact of encouraging, through this subsidy, the electrification of vehicles, is part of this exciting framework of intervention!
The BONJOUR brand
The BONJOUR brand image remains a distinctive visual signature of the taxi industry in Montreal and contributes to the influence of taxi transportation services. Whether it is to display a modern and welcoming appearance, develop new markets or become an icon of the City of Montreal, the brand image contributes to positively distinguishing the taxi industry among citizens and visitors to the city.

In particular, during the recent SOM survey in 2020, respondents emphasized having a positive image of the BONJOUR brand and mentioned that the latter helped to make taxis more visible in the mass while helping to make Montreal friendly and more welcoming. Moreover, during a previous SOM survey, nearly half of taxi owners noted an improvement in the image of their industry since the introduction of this visual signature.
