COVID-19 Pandemic update for October 8th 2020 – The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Oct. 8, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ – The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 in Québec show 1,078 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 82,992. Also, 2 new deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours, to which is added 7 deaths which have occurred between October 1 and October 6 and 1 death which has occurred before October 1. However, the total is at 5,915 due to the withdrawal of 1 death that the investigation has shown not to be attributable to COVID-19. The number of hospitalizations increased by 16 compared to the previous day, for a cumulative total of 425. Among these, the number of people in intensive care increased by 6, for a total of 68. The samples conducted on October 6 amount to 29,949 for a total of 2,555,264.
