Major Community Clean-Up Planned for Parc-Extension North on June 7

Residents of Parc-Extension are being invited to participate in a large-scale community clean-up effort on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Organized by Ville en vert in collaboration with the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, the initiative aims to revitalize the streets and parks of the district’s northern sector.

The gathering point for participants will be outside the William-Hingston Community Centre, located at 419 Saint-Roch Street. From there, volunteers will be dispatched throughout the neighborhood to collect litter and contribute to the upkeep of public spaces. Participation is free and open to all residents, with no prior registration required.

The event highlights the growing importance of citizen engagement in maintaining the quality of urban environments. In densely populated neighborhoods like Parc-Extension, where public green spaces are limited, collective action plays a vital role in promoting health, safety, and a stronger sense of community.

Beyond improving the physical appearance of the area, initiatives such as this clean-up help reinforce civic pride and environmental responsibility among residents. Organizers encourage all participants to bring gloves and reusable containers if possible, although materials will be available on-site.

Efforts to maintain clean public spaces align with broader objectives set by the City of Montréal to promote sustainable development, community involvement, and improved quality of life across all boroughs.

Residents seeking more information about the event can contact Ville en vert at info@villeenvert.ca or visit their website. The clean-up represents an important opportunity for the community to come together, take collective action, and contribute meaningfully to the betterment of Parc-Extension.
